July 31st to August 6th was our third annual family camp here in Spain. We were able to join together with the other ABWE churches in Spain and two other churches to have a time of spiritual refreshment.
Our role in camp was two-fold. Jody was the director of the children's program. Keith was a group leader in the program, as well as the organizer of the Sports activities.

Can you pick out the Hudak family?
Here is our entire group of kids. If we are all looking a bit tired, it is because it is Saturday, the last day of camp. The schedule has been grueling, with the last session every night following dinner. Dinner is at 9 PM, so that makes the evening session begin at 10 PM! |

We had a great time in our Serengeti Trek
Ester and I took turns talking (thank goodness!), and then the rest of the team leaders helped out too...teaching the Bible story, verses, and songs.

Keith and Glen built this tree from scratch.
The kids added leaves each day by completing their daily challenges and saying the memory verses. By the end of the week, the tree did not look so sorry anymore. 25 kids managed to put quite a lot of leaves on that tree! |

Our five groups of kids were each led by a group leader.
They met where ever they could...on the grass, the sidewalk, the patios...and worked with their student workbooks, talking about the lessons of the day. We mixed the age groups, and it seemed to work well, with the older kids helping out the little ones. (Do you see Cal in this picture?)

The evening program was full of fun too.
Josh, from Toledo, helped out by being in charge of the evening program. The craft from Monday lasted three nights, with the kids doing a GREAT job on their African shields. This is Daniel, Cal's friend from school, who had a great week...although we had to literally tip him off his top bunk to get him up every morning. :-) |

Crafts were part of our program...
Here we are working on the jungle necklace kits provided by our friends at Portville Baptist.

As usual, our last day we presented our program to the adults.
We sang our songs, showed our crafts...necklaces, drums, shields, to name a few, and recited our daily themes and verses. What a blessing to see God use this program to reach hearts. Thank God for a church full of translators! One to do ALL the songs, another to do the lessons and student book, even a group leader who translated her drama lesson! |
